The Year of the King-Priest Anointing: A Prophetic Call for 5785

Message from Curt Landry

As we step into the Jewish year of 5785, a profound shift is unfolding—a king-priest anointing that will empower God's people to take dominion in the cultures and nations around the world. The Bible paints a picture of this transformative calling in 2 Kings 13:19, where Elisha instructs a king to strike the ground with arrows, representing a powerful call to action. This is the season for God’s people, equipped as king-priests, to arise and fulfil their divine assignments across the seven mountains of influence.

This year is marked by the number 5785, which prophetically signals a season of grace and divine empowerment. The number "80" signifies "pey," representing the mouth, and "5" speaks of grace. As we step into this new year, God is releasing a double portion of grace—five times over the next twelve months. It is a time for speaking the promises of God with boldness and stepping into new realms of authority as both kings and priests.

The King-Priest Identity

The concept of a king-priest traces back to the biblical figure of Melchizedek, who was both a king and a priest, a model of spiritual and earthly leadership. This dual identity is crucial in this season. Many ministers have focused solely on their priestly duties, often becoming reliant on others to fulfil the kingly aspect of their calling. However, God is now anointing individuals to operate in both realms—spiritually and in practical leadership—across sectors such as business, governance, and ministry.

To truly step into this anointing, it is vital to put on the full armour of God and shed old mindsets, including pride, religiosity, and the opinions of others. Like David, who overcame the criticisms of his brothers and Saul when he faced Goliath, those stepping into this king-priest role must be free from seeking validation from men. Success and promotion often invite opposition, but those equipped with this anointing will rise above and continue to move forward with God’s favour.

Aligning with God’s Purpose

5785 is not just about personal transformation but also about influencing the nations. When Jew and Gentile unite in the Messiah, the glory of God is released in greater measure. This is a call for God’s people to walk in unity, reflecting His glory in their spheres of influence. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, serves as a significant time to cleanse oneself, both spiritually and emotionally, and step into this new season of grace and purpose.

The trials of the past year, described as a "Goliath year," have stretched and tested many, but they have also revealed the Davids—those who are anointed for leadership and victory in challenging times. As David grieved the loss of Saul and Jonathan but chose to honour Saul’s descendants, so too must we move past personal grievances, forgive, and press forward into God’s higher calling.

The Marketplace Anointing

This king-priest anointing extends into the marketplace, where God is calling His people to influence and lead with supernatural wisdom. With this anointing comes the ability to receive divine strategies—what is described as "fourth-dimensional information"—that will transform industries, businesses, and even cure diseases. This is not merely about survival in a challenging world but about thriving and excelling through divine favour and strategic insight.

To receive this grace and favour, one must be willing to sow it. The Hebrew word for grace, "hesed," speaks of a seed sown and a seed received. As you bless others, especially in the marketplace, you will find that the grace of God flows abundantly back into your life.

A Season of Perfection and New Beginnings

The number "7" represents perfection and completion, while "8" signifies new beginnings. This year, God is completing what He started in His people, equipping them with the grace to finish well. Those who embrace this call will find themselves stepping into new roles of leadership and influence, marked by excellence and divine favour. It is a time for renewing the mind, transforming one’s identity, and allowing God to lead in every area of life.

A Call to Action

As we move into 5785, the Lord is asking: Are you ready to step into this king-priest anointing? Are you prepared to be activated and appointed for a higher calling? The next 10 years will be a season of transformation, and those who say "yes" to this calling will be vessels of change in their communities, nations, and industries.

God’s grace is abundant, and His calling is clear. This is the year to rise as king-priests, to reset culture for His Kingdom, and to carry forth the banner of His love and power. In Yeshua’s name, declare your readiness and receive the commissioning for this new season. The world is in need of what God has placed within you—embrace it, and let His grace guide you to the heights He has prepared.

In the biblical context, believers are referred to as both kings and priests according to the order of Melchizedek, a dual role of authority and service. This anointing is most evident when working within spheres of influence, such as business, governance, or communities, where tangible outcomes like wealth transfer, healing, and transformation are the evidence of divine deliverables. The presence of God is carried into every situation, bringing light into the “mountain” or sphere in which one is sent.

A powerful example of this partnership between divine authority and governance is found in Zechariah 4, where Zerubbabel, the governor, and Zechariah, the prophet, demonstrate the harmonious working of a king-priest anointing. This unity between roles is not about personal ambition but about fulfilling God-given assignments with divine authority and grace. In today’s world, this same anointing calls leaders to stay in their God-assigned lanes and serve with humility, focusing on advancing God's Kingdom rather than personal gain.

As we enter the biblical year of 5785, there is a sense that the anointing of leaders will intensify. Many have already experienced unexpected opportunities, a divine setup not by their own strength but through God’s hand. This year is about stepping into new roles with grace and faith, recognizing that the Lord has called us to be seated in places of influence for His purpose. There’s a call to remove limitations, to take the lid off our lives, and embrace the fullness of our calling.

The vision of entering the fourth dimension—a space of spiritual insight and divine encounters—is critical for operating in this king-priest anointing. It's here, in daily communion with God, that believers receive guidance, hidden wisdom, and instruction for their assignments. This realm requires a deeper understanding of God's language, spoken in parables and metaphors, requiring us to tune into His Spirit to navigate this season effectively.

For those walking in this anointing, the year 5785 also brings a necessary transition out of the challenges of the past year, 5784. Known as a “Goliath year,” it has stretched and tested many, but it has also revealed the Davids—those who will rise in the face of adversity with the strength and wisdom of God. It is now time to dust off the disappointments of the past, forgive, and step into a new identity with renewed strength. This prophetic act of “dusting off” symbolizes leaving behind what has weighed us down and embracing the new opportunities and victories ahead.

As we enter this season of Reformation, a reshaping and repositioning are taking place. It is a time of great change, where the king-priest anointing equips believers to lead in both spiritual and practical arenas—be it in ministry, business, or governance. This transformation is rooted in a deeper intimacy with God, who guides His people through challenging times to emerge victorious.

In summary, the king-priest anointing is about unity, service, and staying aligned with God’s purpose. It is a call to walk in both spiritual authority and practical leadership, bringing deliverables that reflect God’s kingdom on earth. As we move forward into 5785, let us declare, "I receive my God-given roles by faith and grace, and I am ready to fulfill my calling in Yeshua's name."
