10 scriptures to wage war with

Notes from Ps Jeremiah Johnson's sharing on Sept 26, 2023 [How to wage war with Scriptures)

God is drawing His people in this hour who feel the tension the urgency of the hour - the global shaking economically and politically.

This is not an hour to fear; it's not even an hour to get discouraged. But there is this sense of “it's time to get sober, it's time to get alert; it's time to engage in the battle”.

We don't war according to the flesh; our battle is not against flesh and blood. Our battles are against principalities and powers/rulers in the dark world (Ephesians 6).

We need to pray God’s Word, not out of our emotions or our own desires. Pull these 10 scriptures out and meditate on them and memorise them and go to war with them in Jesus’ name.

10 scriptures to pray with

1) Luke 10:19

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jesus says behold I've given you authority over the demonic realm. Do you believe that?

2) 2 Thessalonians 3:3

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

Sometimes when satan is raging and things are crumbling all around us, it's easy to believe that God has forgotten about us and that we're not important.

But this verse reminds us that God is faithful and He will strengthen us and protect us from the evil one.

3) 1 Corinthians 15:57

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let's thank God who gives us the victory through Jesus Christ. We're not fighting for victory; we're fighting from the place of victory and our victory comes through the cross and the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

4) Romans 8:37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Sometimes our mind wars against us, and we want to magnify our problems or our diagnosis; but life and power and strength come from the Word of God.

5) 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

How we war, full of faith, and how we war, full of agreement with God's Word, is we don't war in the flesh and we recognise that we have to take captive thoughts of unbelief, thoughts of doubt. Do not pray out of fear, unbelief or worry.

We need to be praying the word of God. We need to take captive every thought; we need to be praying and dismantling demonic ideologies and thoughts that set themselves up against the knowledge of God.

6) Matthew 18:18-19

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

Come away from praying your fears; come away from praying out of unbelief and doubt; and come into agreement with the power that's in the word of God. Let it wash your mind; let it renew your thoughts.

That's what God is doing - he's right there in the midst of us wanting to answer our prayers. We

just come into agreement in Jesus’ name for victory.

7) Deuteronomy 28:7

The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

Some of us are in the midst of a really trying time. They might come out against us one way, but they're going to flee before us seven ways.

8) Deuteronomy 3:22

You must not fear them, for the Lord your God Himself fights for you.

If you are feeling harassed or feeling intimidated, or bullied, do not fear them. Do not fear

the report for the Lord your God is the One fighting for you.

9) Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

God is with us. Sometimes the devil tries to lie, deceive and sow seeds of fear and doubt and unbelief. We've got to take captive those thoughts and make them obedient to Jesus.

Choose not to live in fear. If you believe in the lies, you will empower the liar.

Refuse to empower demonic activity in your life.

How you’re going to dismantle it is to refute and cut out the lies of the enemies; and root yourself in the Word of God.

10) 2 Chronicles 20:15

And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

God is for you. God is with you.

Random notes - fresh bridal anointing

Anointing and consecration go hand in hand. To be anointed is to be dedicated to the Lord.

It has been prophesied that God wants to pour forth a fresh bridal anointing upon His church.

The church is called to represent God on earth.

We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The bridal anointing will break the yolk of slavery in craving for the pleasures of the world (distractions, busyness, money).

It will enable us to make our priorities right with God.

It will make us willing to live a surrendered life.

It will strengthen us to do His will.

It will purify us and circumcise our heart.

How does the Lord treat His bride?

1) Rev 19:7 - Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His wife has made herself ready
2) Ezekiel 47:1-6 - Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. 2 He brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me around on the outside to the outer gateway that faces east; and there was water, running out on the right side. 3 And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. 4 Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. 5 Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed. 6 He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river.

How to prepare to receive the bridal anointing?
Build stronger altar; go deep in walk with Him

Bridal anointing will bring:
1) growth
2) hope, refreshment, security
3) breakthroughs
4) love for God

When you are in the right position, God will provide all that is necessary to fulfil your call, and lead you to your prophetic destination.

Nothing in your life is wasted. He will all things out for the good of those who love Him and are called to His purpose.

Involve God in whatever plans you have, and you'' be more peaceful and joyful.

God doesn't want us to strife, He wants us to thrive. The quicker we surrender, the quicker the Lord will bless us.

Work from rest >>> involve God in your plan >>> know that He cares for you >>> He is a personal God
